I am taking the safe option with my magazine as i am choosing a typical narrative structure as people are comfortable with this and they know what they are expecting and will therefore buy the magazine. The narrative is linear and chronological as it has a beginning middle and end. Also the events are organised around the ideas of cause and effect as we always see and understand the cause of action taking place. My front cover, content page and double page article will follow the typical narrative structure of headings, sub headings and strap lines. These allow the readers to read on and choose which article they want to read.
My unique selling point is the fact that not many RnB magazines are hybrid. Many are just music magazines with fashion but not many have celebrity news as their sub genre. Nick Lacey comments on how genres change, he said, “The same but different.” Also Graham Burton comments on how the unique selling point of genres makes the genre text the same but different. He said, “Genres are created through a process of repetition and recognition leading to anticipation and expectation.”
